For the next few weeks during our study of Ancient Egypt we will be reading and discussing the Golden Goblet by Jarvis McGraw. Our study of this text will take place primarily on this wikipage. You have been assigned a group and each group consists of 4-5 individuals that will collaborate on constructing a group reading journal. These collaborative journals can be found in the side bar over to the right. In your groups you will have the opportunity to research, read a text set with a historical lens, and share your own personal thoughts on the novel.

The next few weeks your homework will alternate. One night you will complete the assigned reading and the following night you will contribute to the group reading journal. Your contribution to the group will be two-fold. First you will complete your assigned role which will alternate with each reading assignment. The definition for the roles are found below. You can find out your assigned role on your group page. Secondly, respond to the discussion questions posted on your group page.

Role-summarizer
Role-researcher
Role-vocab definer
Role-illustrator
Role-social class master
