Jordan-Summarizer Chapter 10 starts off with Ranofer talking with Heqet and The Ancient about spying and how it’s going for the both of them. For the next couple of days and nights, Ranofer has been spying on Gebu and also got caught when he was following him down a street. Then one night, he caught Gebu probably accepting gold, he was shocked. But after a while, Ranofer suspected he was doing the job when he was asleep. After doing that for a while now, when he was at work doing his job when Gebu and shouting and asking Ranofer questions. Once he was done yelling, he was thinking possible ways for Gebu to become rich, then he considered that he may just be robbing the tomb of Thutmose the Conqueror.

The Temple of Amon is a sacred area, about 450 miles south of Cairo on the east side of the Nile, had a small shrine to local deity during the 12th Dynasty. However, it developed over a period of about 2000 years into an enormous complex dedicated to the king of the Egyptian gods:Amon-Ra. It was trashed twice--by Akhenaten and by the early Christians--and is still being excavated with parts of earlier buildings found as building rubble in later additions.

The High Nile festival is something the Egyptian celebrate when the Nile river floods. When the Nile floods it's time for the Egyptian to harvest the crops and they can feast. The festival lasts one day and involves taking boats across the river. The Nile is the lifeblood of Egypt so this is an important time for the Egyptians.

In chapter eight Ranofer and Heqet make plans on how to get Ranofer back to being a goldsmith. After months of hard and dismal work of being a stonecutter, Ranofer is tired of it. They plan a trip to Zau for Heqet pick up a stake and Ranofer wants to ask for an apprenticeship. On his way home Ranofer realizes that he forgot to collect his daily coppers. He then comes home empty handed and has to face the wrath of Gebu.As a river captain skill is required. River captains transport freight like grains and other things up and down the river.
